Marland of Odstock Head of consortium that bought 'The Wisden Cricketer' from BSkyB Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change. Previously Lord Marland was Opposition Whip in the Lords as well as Opposition Spokesperson for the Cabinet Office in 2009-10. Stood against Giles Clarke for the Chair of the ECB in January 2009 President of Salisbury City F.C. Outside of politics, Lord Marland was one of the founding directors of Jardine Lloyd Thomson plc, a multinational insurance business and also founded AppleClaim, the insurance company, at Lloyd's of London. He led the acquisitions of Hunter Wellington Boots, and Insurance Capital Partners. Currently, he is the Chairman of Herriot Ltd, Clareville Capital LLP, and is a Director of Janspeed Ltd, Hunter Boot Ltd and the stockbroking firm W H Ireland Ltd. He is also Chairman of Harnham Water
Meadows Trust, a Trustee of Peggy Guggenheim Museum (UK), and a Trustee
of the Churchill Society. He is a member of the Development Committee at
the Royal Academy of Arts, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. |
